I am running Sibelius 2018.7 on windows 10, intel i7-6700hq @ 2.6ghz, 8gb ram.

It started a month ago, Sibelius runs horribly slow, especially on large scores. This is very frustrating as it completely destroys my workflow and consumes a lot of time waiting for Sibelius to catch up to my already slow inputs like scrolling, notating, etc etc.

I have looked around and there doesn't seem to be a determinable solution to this

Are you working with the Inspector open? If so, close it down and only open in when you need to make changes then close it again straight away.
I seem to remember there were issues like this with hi resolution monitor screens as well.

Also double check that Sibelius is using 2 cpu cores and that you are not in panoramic view.
