In Sibelius 6 this was easy. How do you do it in Ultimate?

In exactly the same way you did it in 6 - with a tempo mark.

Ah no, in 6 I had a slider that I could move left or right as the score played. Simplicity. Now I don't see a way to type in a different tempo while the playing continues.

That slider was never intended to be used int that way. How do you expect someone playing your music to know the tempo if you don't put a tempo mark in place?

If you are determined to do this, the tempo slider is still on the transport panel.

Now I'm feeling dim. I can't see any slider, apart from the one that makes the staves bigger and smaller.

We all have our own uses for Sibelius. I use it predominantly to make scores and parts of seventeenth-century viol consort music, where tempo is not critical. I rarely have occasion to show or send my scores to anyone else, I just print out the parts and use them in my classes, rehearsals, and sessions. Very useful to be able to print a part in a choice of clefs and so forth.

So I use(d) the slider to check quickly for wrong notes. I can use the fast-forward button on each note, that will have to be my work-around unless there really is a slider I'm not spotting.

Thanks Mike, I got something in my Dropbox, but it is all about where the bar numbers appear, above or below the stave.

Thanks Bob, View/Transport is where it is. Phew.

Just couldn't find that via Sibelius Reference.
