I'm using the "Add From Notes" function to add chord symbols. In some places Sibelius adds chord symbols when there are no notes, see image below. I've told Sibelius to add chord symbols on every eighth note, but also to only add symbols if the chord name has changed. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug in Sibelius?

I'm using the latest version of Sibelius, 2019.9 on Windows 7.

It seems to work as expected if I select either "Use slash inversion marks (e.g. G/D)" or "Only insert chord symbol if the root note has changed".

A workaround could be to use slash inversion marks and then select all and remove them, but I can't find a way to do that. I tried to select all chords; right-click; Chord Symbol -> Add/Remove Chord Text Root, but that removes the chord name and leaves the slash inversion mark, which is opposite to what I want.

No idea why that happened. No plugin is perfect. I don't think you did anything wrong. I would delete the extras.
