Hi, I am currently on Sibelius 8.5.0 build 552 and am writing to determine how I can read Sibelius files from newer versions. Or how do I upgrade my Sibelius 8.5 version? There is no mention of version 8.5 on the Avid website or upgrade path and it is very frustrating trying to work through the confusing labyrinth of info on the avid website. Longtime Sibelius user. Please help!!

1. This is NOT an Avid (owner of sibelius) website
2. Are you on Ultimate? Did you have a perpetual licence?
3. Yes, the Avid website is confusing.

This is a forum for Sibelius users, correct? Yes I have a perpetual license. I have Sibelius version 8.5, which I upgraded to from version 7.5 couple years ago. I believe version 8.5 is different from (and older than) Ultimate.

Yes, it IS a forum for sibelius users, but it is not frequented by Avid staffers, who are the people you need to talk to in this case.. We are just users like yourself.

Why do you need to read later versions of Sib? Surely the person who is creating the files can export them to your level?

Only you can decide whether an upgrade is right for what you need. Your best route is to go to the Avid Website (Take the Audio route through the labyrinth) and decide whether the cost of upgrading is worth it.
