Ledger lines length on a single passage

Hello,

I need to shorten ledger lines length on a particularly cramped passage but not on the rest of the document.
When shortening ledger lines length inside Layout > House Style > Engraving Rules, I can only change ledger lines length of the entire document.
Is it possible to alter this parameter only on a single passage?
Thank you.

Miguel

In a word, no.

Have you tried reducing the staff size (for that passage only) ever so slightly?

Yes, but I find the same problem: staff size gets reduced in the whole document. I didn’t know it was possible to reduce staff size in a single passage. How can that be done?

Anyway even when I tried this by reducing stave size to 6 mm (very small for a single instrument playing part), ledger lines kept touching each other.

Thank you Mike

The trouble with leger lines is that they are not alterable on a note-by-note basis.

Select the system you want to reduce, open the inspector and change the size under the Bars panel. after you have done this, you should be able to use [ctrl/cmd][shift]n to reset note spacing..

Maybe it is because we have different Sibelius versions, I can't find this option. This is my inspector screen. At the right you can see also ledger lines touching each other problem.

The only other option I can suggest, then, might be to use a smaller notehead ([shift][alt]10). Can you try changing this setting (see image)

Thank you Mike. I found the best practical solution by exporting that page alone with shortened ledger lines and then combining PDFs. A little time demanding, but that preserves a little more general unity of the score.

Thank you anyway for the help and for the ideas
