I just tried updating 2020.1 to 2020.3 on my Mac Mini running Catalina 10.15.3.
Tried updating from Avid Link and the installer said it encountered an error. Three times...
Tried downloading the disk image installer from my account page and when I tried to open it it said it was damaged and should be binned. Twice.
Tried a restart, no luck.
Anyone got any ideas?

This error used to happen when I tried to run the installer without unzipping it first. Once you have downloaded the file, use winzip or 7-zip (or whatever) and extract the file and only then try to install (using the unzipped file).

The problem seems to have solved itself on my Mac Mini. After trying for about four days it decided to install. It did ask for access to Terminal, which I granted, then it was straight ahead. For all the difference it made to the way I use it, it probably wasn't worth the hassle.
Thanks everyone.

I managed to fix the issues myself. I read through the installer log and saw the error information with the Microsoft Installer. It was an issues with the Microsoft Software Installer on my computer but unique to Sibelius. I solved it by using a Microsoft diagnostic program for MSI called MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab from this page https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/hel ... or-removed

I turns out the issue was with the Uninstall of the old software not the install of the new. Once I ran the software MSI software it identified the problems and fixed them in about 3-4 minutes. Then when I ran the Sibelius Installer it worked. You may want to pass this software name to your technical teams. It only took about 5 mins to fix once in total once I understood the problem.

Hope this helps others!

You may want to note this on the actual official Avid Sibelius forum. No avid employees - as far as I know - ever come here.
