I created a simple pattern of notes today and tried to beam them automatically with "Beam Group" which is in "Appearance" tab.
As I know, you cannot beam across the center of the measure. But Sibelius did. Is it a bug or am I missing something?

You appear to have forced Sibelius to do this. Here's what Sibelius has just done, with no need to change any settings in the 'Beam Group'. I started the left hand part with the rests and moved along, which seems the natural thing to do! :)

It really works if you act sequentially, but if I want to input a note from a random place and then apply beaming, for some reason Sibelius does not recognize the time signature and just beams all together. This complicates.

'apply beaming': Like I said, you're forcing it to do this.

In your example, what happens if you input logically and let Sibelius beam according to its rules?

Here's my thought on the matter - if you set up a dotted eighth before you input, Sibelius will place a dotted eighth. Because that is what you asked it to do. And yes, it will ignore the beaming rules - because you told it to. Sibelius is not psychic. It cannot read your mind. If you tell it to do something (insert a dotted eighth) then that is exactly what it will do because it does not think for itself. I think you need to take some responsibility for this!

I made it from scratch in the way you described it. Thank you anyway, I'm aware of this problem now.

I became more responsible today. Thank you.
