In Sibelius First why on earth can I no longer export files as MusicXML? And now I have to send PDFs from the share function as an email :? . This can't be right...why can't it be as simple as File>Export As?

I've just updated my computer from Mac os10.13 which was running Sibelius First version 7, to mac os10.15(Catalina) and the latest version of Sibelius first.

I use the export function a lot, am I missing something in this new version?

Do you mean the older Sib First that you pay for and is now called Sibelius or the new version of Sib First that is free?

If the latter, you get what you pay for - and you pay for what you get.

If the former, make sure you have the correct tier activated.

Thanks for the reply.

I had the older Sibelius First that I paid for, so it seems in the new free version that the export options have been limited, I get it, it's free, that's fine, but I paid for my old version that was working for me just fine.

I found a form that lets you request older versions that you purchased, hopefully the older version will still run on Mac Catalina.

Thanks

I wouldn't hold my breath. One of the givens on Macs is that your software will become obsolete. If it isn't the 64bit version it will NOT run on Catalina - end of. I've just read up on it - no version of sib earlier than 2019.9 will work properly - or at all - on Catalina.

Uh! I'll just have to save PDF and MusicXML files from the old machine and use the MusicXML files in new software if I need to make any edits.

That's a shame. Goodbye Sibelius!

Hello! You may have the answer by now. I have been frustrated for a few weeks and just found the solution today, so I wanted to share:
In the Sibelius First print dialog box, select "Use OS Dialog", which is in a box at the bottom of the screen. A normal (small) OS print dialog box pops up, and you can use it to save as a PDF. Screen shot attached.
