Hello,

I am currently trying to add lyrics to an extract in Sibelius. Even since my GCSEs I have always clicked on the note where I want the lyrics to start used 'cmd + L' to input them, or I have gone to the Text ribbon and Lyrics etc. However, all of a sudden, whenever I use either of those options, a random arrow appears instead but with no flashing cursor.

If I double click on the arrow it then allows me to input text. However, as soon as I press the space bar or want to carry on to the next note, it automatically prevents me from inputting anything, meaning I'd have to click on the next note and repeat the same steps. It also means when there is melismatic text setting, the hyphens won't exist.

I have just updated my iMac to OSX Big Sur so I am not sure if this has anything to do with it as I believe it worked perfectly fine before. Does anybody know how to fix this? I'd be ever so grateful as I'm currently trying to create a mock exam paper and the lyrics is essential!!

Many thanks,
James

AFAIK, the latest version of Sib Ultimate (2020.9) is compatible with Big Sur. However, there may be issues like this appearing. I have heard of others who have had similar problems with text input (with dynamics) so it could be this problem.

Maybe you should regress to Catalina until problems are sorted out?

You do need Sibelius 2020.9 for full compatibility. Anything earlier than that may show issues like this.

Just saw your post. I think we have a common issue here. See my post here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=72134. Pfff!
