Hi Team
I am supporting a client who bought few Sibelius 7 license back in the pass, we are migrating users now to the new laptops. When we trying to activate new version, it`s asking for license server address. We are not aware of such server in our client network infrastructure.

When I am opening Avid license control on new laptops it`s says, “There was an unspecified error (5) initialising the license engine.”

When I open Sibelius Avid license control on old device it gave me all needed licenses information.

I am trying to understand that license server idea.
So my understand is that when I open “Sibelius Avid license control” is it checking that license on some sort of license server? How can I check to what license server it`s referring to so I could use it to activate Sibelius license on new laptops and deactivate old onse ?

Is this an educational establishment? AFAIR, the technicians at the school would have to install the license server on the school network.

The best people to help you are Avid tech support. You should raise a case at Avid. I just tried to do this and got hopelessly lost in the ridiculously complicated website. I'd recommend you email ingrid.guce@avid.com who may be able to help you much better than I.
