I'm sure many of you have done the same thing I've done many times.....which is: after you write something in Sibelius you FORGET to hit the ESC button and SAVE button and you start typing or playing in notes again and erase what you just wrote in. Sound familiar? OK the question is, is there a way of not letting this happen? I don't think so unless someone here knows something I don't. If you do, please tell me/us.

The only way is to do what most users do and hit Esc after any input or edits, and Ctrl-S to save on a very regular basis.

I have to smile a little. One of my students said in her lesson yesterday after playing a wrong note "I always do that!". So I asked her if she knew she was doing it all the time. "Yes". So I told her to try to recognise when something was not going right and take positive action to change it.

You post semi-regularly on here, so I know that you know what's what with Sibelius. So I think that same 'positive action' (see paragraph #1) is called for! :)

...and [ctrl/cmd]z is your friend. Also, if you use [ctrl][shift]z, you can bring up the entire undo history and choose your 'restore point'.

Thanks for the input guys. Didn't know about [ctrl][shift]z. What does [ctrl][cmd]z do?

Ctrl-Z (win) and Cmd-Z (mac) are standard 'Undo last action' commands.

[ctrl][shift]z on windows brings up a dialog listing the whole of the undoable actions. (For Mac, replace [ctrl] with [cmd]
