Hi, all!

I'm editing a Renaissance work, and attempting to create a proper prefatory staff. I've done everything as per the Sibelius Guide, but one thing it doesn't address is how to get rid of the piano reduction staff from the prefatory bar. See the picture I attached... I'd like to get rid of that one empty piano measure below the vocal prefatory staves.

Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Select both staves of the piano staff for the first bar only and insert an instrument change to no instrument (hidden).

Mike - thank you so much! However: NOW it looks like this: (see picture)

The time signature is still hanging there, seemingly connected to the ones on the upper staves as a unit. Any ideas on how to get rid of those bottom two times signatures?

Yep, don't panic!

Change the cleft for the prefaratory bar to no clef just like you did for the other staves (press q and look for it in the list - it's immediately below the drum clef).

Mike -

A little confused... I'm attempting to delete just the cut-time time signatures hanging in the air below the prefatory staves. Is that what you understood?

Regardless - when I select those cut-time signatures hanging down there, and do what you suggest, I end up with this:

Any other ideas???
Thanks Mike!

That's because you put it on the Canto not on the Piano!

Select each of the piano staves in turn and apply the empty clef to the first bar.

You will still have to clean up the barline at the end of the prefaratory bar. If you let me have your email addy I can send you a file where I have set this up. You can't post sib files here :-( Just tell me which version of Sib you are using so I can save it in the right format.

I wonder if I've just fiddled around so much that I've created a complicated web of the clefs and meters are assigned, etc, and some basic function aren't working like they should.

"Select each of the piano staves in turn and apply the empty clef to the first bar." How much more specific can you be? I think I've tried every interpretation of those instructions to no avail. :)

My email address is dan.wessler@gmail.com. I'd love the template if you could send it to me. I'm running Sibelius Ultimate.

BUT I can't let myself not know how to do this on my own, haha. Would love to figure it out for real.

When you say Ultimate, exactly which version of ultimate? I'm on 2021.2. If yours is earlier than that I'll have to export it in that version.
