Is it possible to download Sibelius First 2019.19 for Mac? My computer is unable to run the current version.

There is no such version as 2019.19. The numbers after the dot represent the month of the year!

What is your OS? If you are on Big Sur, you will not be able to run any version of sib before 2020.6.

You candownload the latest version of Sibelius first from the Avid website.

Sorry, that was supposed to say 2010.9.

I'm running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. Is it possible to find a version of Sibelius First to run on it?

You can downlaod Sibelius First from the avid website. AFAIK, 2021.2 will run quite happily on macos 10.x and upwards.

Unfortunately, this is not so. After downloading it I get the message "Sibelius can't be installed. OS X version 10.12 or later is required."

Can you show me a screenshot of the help-->About page which shows the Sibelius version? There is no 2010.x This form of numbering starts with Sib 2018. 2018.x is listed as compatible with OS 10.9 through 10.13.

Anything after 2019.12 needs OS 10.12 and higher.

My advice - get a PC. There is none of this messing about.

Do you mean this?

It seems that it is only possible to download the latest version of First (2020.1) unless you can point me to a place where I can get 2019.9?

Sibelius First is a free download, so I don't expect Avid to offer anything other than the current version. In fact, the download comprises every tier of Sibelius. It's just your licence that allows you to run it as First, plain Sibelius or Sibelius Ultimate. IIRC, you can still download PAID FOR older versions from your Avid account. I made a point of copying the download files, even though I still have the DVDs for versions 6 and 7, which I use, so I've never needed to check that. And I downloaded all the update files too.

First is so extremely stripped down as to make it virtually useless for anything other than very simple notation. You'd be better off using Musescore 3, which has better functionality, IMHO. Of course, that won't open old Sibelius files, which I guess you need.

I think you have only two options.

1) upgrade to a newer Mac O/S, presumably Big Sur, if your computer can handle it
2) switch to a Windows computer - Windows 10 will run Sibelius versions going back many, many years with no problems at all.

If you want to go to an earlier version of Sib - assuming it is a paid version - then you can create a case with Avid here: http://avid.force.com/Support/RegistrationCaseCreation.

I don't think they will supply installers for the free version, but feel free to try.
