In prefer having a circle around bar numbers both in score and parts.

The problem occurs when creating multirests. Then suddenly there is a ring around these numbers.
How do I avoid this, is there a workaround?

I would really prefer using square brackets in italic, is this a possibility in Sibelius?

Thanks
Arne

Can you explain - with screenshots - what it is you are actually trying to achieve and what you have managed to do (and how).

Hi Mike

This is what I do

Appearance/Engraving rules/Bar numbers/
-show range and center range
-edit text style/border/circled

(the desired example I have done in Finale)

The short answer is no. Sibelius uses the same text style for ordinary bar numbers as for bar numbers under rests.

The longer answer is that you may be able to create a 'bar number type 2 text style that you can substitute. I'm afraid that's further than I can go. Have you asked on the official forum? https://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpce ... &groupid=3

Question answered on the official forum. There is no automatic way to do this. It's now on the 'to do' list at Sibelius, but the task will not be simple.
