Chord Notation
Much will depend on your version and/or tier of Sibelius. Cm7 is c,eb,g,Bb. if you type exactly cm7 in chord symbol text that is what you should get.
c eb g b is cm(maj7), which is what Sibelius uses when you use text-->Chord Symbols-->Add from notes. (On the text tab of the ribbon from Sib 7.x). Using + indicates an augmented chord.
If your version of sib allows it, you can change your chord symbol entry to Legacy, which will pretty much allow you to write what you want. However wrong it may be. (File-->Preferences-->Other-->Chord symbols)

Sib 6.2, 7.5 and 2024.3.1, Windows 11, 32GB RAM, 16TB 7200RPM Storage, 2TB SSD, Note Performer 4, EWQLSO, EWQLSC, Harmony Assistant and some others. mike@mike-lyons.co.uk
I'm also getting Am( ▵ ). The triangle usually means a major seventh chord or note in this case. I must have changed maj.7 to the triangle in Engraving Rules at some point. This works for me. The version of Sibelius I have is 15.0. Thanks for your reply.
Are you from the future? Sibelius went to version 8, then started using 2019.x, 2020.x and 2021.x. there has never been a 15.

Just a further thought - are you using a Mac? If so, are you on Big Sur or later? Sib 8.2 will NOT work properly on Big Sur. Particularly text or video objects will not behave properly.

Indeed it will - providing you aren't using legacy chord input.
