Good morning, this is the first time I have come to the forum since May 21 and hopefully everyone has been well. I bought a new Mac mini computer to replace my MacBook and installed Sibelius. The programme has no problem running on the new Mac M1 processor but I cannot seem to open files that I created while on my MacBook. Has any other members experienced similar issues?
Ps. I have just been able to open the music directly from the .sib file but not by using OPEN command in the software.

Which version of Sibelius is this? If, as your signature suggests, it is 7.5 then you have been extremely lucky to get it to run at all on any new Mac.
Sib 6.2, 7.5 and 2023.6, Windows 11, 32GB RAM, 16TB 7200RPM Storage, 2TB SSD, Note Performer 3.3.2, EWQLSO, EWQLSC, Harmony Assistant and some others. mike@mike-lyons.co.uk

Yes, Mike it is 7.5 and to be honest it seems to be running quite well but there are a few minors that annoy me.
For example, the Cmd+E short cut doesn't work.
I have two questions......
1. How do I insert 'allarg.'
2. Is 'Sibelius First' anything close to 7.5 in terms of functionality?
Great to be back playing!

No version of Sibelius before 2020.9 (I think) will run properly on any mac. There will be all sorts of annoying glitches and unexpected crashes. text input will not work properly either. This is not Avid's fault (unusually) but Apple's.
No. Avoid any version of Sib First. The latest version is less useful than a chocolate teapot. The only way you will get anything like the functionality of 7.x is by upgrading to Ultimate. The version called plain "Sibelius" is the same as what used to be called Sibelius|First, but it is so severly limited that, if you are a serious composer/arranger, you'll find it utterly falls short of the performance you are used to.
If you aren't bothered by the latest bells and whistles, it would be cheaper to invest in a modern Windows laptop and run Sib 7.5 it on that.

Your advice is welcome Mike. I will have to explore Sibelius pricing for the Mac. Reverting back to Windoze isnt an option.
On an optimistic note, where is ‘allarg’ hidden in the ribbon menu?

Select the beat where you want it to go and press the mac equivalents of [ctrl][alt]t ([cmd][opt]t ?) then right-click or just type it into the text frame.

I have had to abandon Sibelius 7.5 and the short cut commands do not work under Mac OS 11.4 M1 processor.
Yeah, I'm not at all surprised. Still, at lest you are familiar with the ribbon interface, so going to ultimate won't be a huge learning curve!
