Hi there.
Still stuck with Sibelius 2019 here.
I'm considering upgrading to the new version (2022 or whatever) but my decision depends on whether Avid fixed the problem Sibelius has since day one: Piano part, "Cross-staff Notes" (Above or Below). Can Sibelius today, with this option, write a single note of a chord on the staff below (or above) or does it continue to write the entire chord?
I know there are options to temporarily get around this problem by creating extra voices, lengthening the stems, etc... None of that works for me and it takes three times as long, that's why I ask if this problem has been already fixed.
Thanks in advance.
One question for a possible upgrader.
In a word, no. It's still the incredible ball ache it has always been!
Sib 6.2, 7.5 and 2024.3.1, Windows 11, 32GB RAM, 16TB 7200RPM Storage, 2TB SSD, Note Performer 4, EWQLSO, EWQLSC, Harmony Assistant and some others. mike@mike-lyons.co.uk
Well, that was easy.
So, Dorico all the way...
Thanks for the info.
EDIT: By the way. You know, MuseScore has exactly the same problem and from day one as well. The issue has been reported so many times and for some unknown reason, the developers don't want to fix it. Go figure...
They are too busy making it compatible with ipads. Major bugs like this are no longer being fixed. As soon as I've got enough free time, I'm going to get Dorico into my head and abandon Sib for good, after nearly 30 years!

Just to clarify.
Someone on Facebook recently brought up the same issue I've raised here:
https://m.facebook.com/groups/sibeliuss ... tid=Nif5oz
He even showed a comparison to Dorico.
Many of the responses the post produced don't make much sense, especially from those who are clearly Sibelius fans. but apparently, for AVID, it is not seen as a "bug", so there will never be a solution.
Go figure...
