When writing a drum part I use voice 1 for my snare and voice 2 for my bass drum. When I enter the snare notes first the stems are pointed up which is where they should be. Now, when I start to enter the bass notes the snare stems turn facing down. If I enter the bass drum first the stems will face down, but as soon as I enter the snare the stems on the bass drum turn and start to face up. This is a very frustrating and time consuming problem. So, is there a fix for this? When I enter either snare or bass notes they should stay in their correct position, snare stems up, bass drum, stems facing down. Thanks.

Are you using x to change the direction of the stems as you input the part? Don't. Voice 1 stems will normally point down when you enter the snare notes (it's on C 3rd space). Just ignore this until you turn to the bass drum parts. As soon as you enter the f (1st space) the stems should automatically go the right way. you should never need to constantly juggle them as you describe.

Mike, again you're absolutely correct about the stems. I never took to time to enter all the snare notes first then the bass drum notes. I was using the x to change the direction of the stems, I won't anymore. Thanks again.

You don't have to enter all the snares and then all the bass drum, you can swap between voices mid thrutch, as it were, just by using [alt]1 and [alt]2 for voices 1 and 2.
