long score difficulties

am working on a very long score, I know, I could split it up to make things go faster. But not if you are in the phase of making Parts, then you want to see the full score and make parts of one score, and not split it up so that you have to make multiple parts of the same instrument. Any advise?

Hi, so, you haven't actually identified what the issue is.

long scores:
-audio is not the same, written instructions are ignored, pizzicato's become arco and vice versa;
-very slow scrolling

The audio issues happen in shorter scores as well.

Workflow suggestion - if you are at the stage of making the parts, do you need playback still?
If you were to split the score, working on two or more sections until you need to create the parts, at which point you could append the parts together again.

The slowdown is a common happening with Macs. Not so much on PC. It does happen, but nowhere near as often. A restart of the machine often cures this. Do you do a complete shutdown (not sleep or hibernate) regularly?

My Mac doctor will disagree I suppose :)
I do already mostly what you are suggesting, thanks. But the disadvantage of long scores by not following the instructions (pizz, sul pont. col legno etc) remains and is most unpleasant. Perhaps there must be a technical explanation, maybe more RAM or something. Strange that this is an issue in the software, as I am sure I am not the only composer with long scores.

Well, it's not a problem I have experienced much, but I do now have 32GB RAM.

What I find on Windows is that the program slows down in its response to keypresses and note entry, dialog boxes etc. There's no real answer to that either.
