Sibelius not recognizing music font symbols

I'm using the music font Chaconne, and for some reason Sibelius doesn't recognize some symbols--specifically the dynamic "m" and common time symbol--despite them being there in the font file. The dynamic "m" resorts to a trill marking. The same thing happens with the Maestro font.

Font issues are very common on Macs. Try reinstalling the fonts to see if that makes a difference. Have you restarted your machine lately? Which version of MacOS and which version and tier of Sibelius are you using?

Haven't re-installed the font or restarted my computer, but I'll try those tomorrow. I fixed the stuff with dynamics so now the only thing missing is getting the time signatures to display in the Chaconne font. They default back to Opus and I don't know how to fix that

Every piece of text in Sibeius has a text style. You'll find it listed if you click the little button in the bottom right corner of the Text Styles button on the ribbon, below the gallery dropdown. Be warned, though. If you choose the wrong type of font (ie not a music font) for the charaters, you'll end up in a real mess.
