Hi all,

I've encountered a little hiccup in making Segue text. I've managed to create a text style that sits under the stave, on every part, locked to the right margin without a problem.

The issue is that its attaching itself to the first bar of the page its inserted on in the full score. For example. If the last page of the full score goes from 112-120, the Segue text will attach itself to 112, not the last bar where I need it to.

Any ideas are welcome to try and fix this issue!

Thanks in advance!

If you are using a system text style for your segue, so it appears automatically on every part, then you also need to make sure you attach it to the bar correctly.

If you have that bar - and only that bar - selected in the score - and it can be a blue box selection - then the text will attach to that bar. If you set view-attachment lines you should be able to see where it is attached, although it is faint.

FYI, A picture of what you are actually getting in the score/parts would be much more helpful at this stage of the game!

Thanks so much for your reply,

Here is the screenshot of the attachment line (I've turned on appear on Top Stave so you can see it)

I selected the last bar and then inserted the text and it attached itself to this bar at the start of that page... very odd. It's attached to the same bar in the parts too...

K. My next question is " What text style is this using?"

You cannot base your text style on something like "composer" or "lyricist". It needs to be something like "plain system text" so you can attach it to a rhythmic position. This example is attached to the page, not to the bar. You need to make it attach to note ( the second of your earlier screen shots).

Use the "default position" settings for the text style to make it sit in the right place below the bar.

I have tried based on Tempo and Plain System Text style. Both yield the same result.

The text itself is sitting in the correct place but the attachment line is attaching itself to the first bar of the page it's being added on.

Annoyingly I can't attach a screen recording but what I am doing is highlighting the last bar, inserting the text style, and then it attaches itself to the first bar of the page its being inserted one which in this case is b. 111 (screenshot attached). The segue text is only above the top stave to see the attachment line.

Yes. As I said, perhaps confusingly, look at your previous second screenshot. You need to change the position so it is no longer page relative but note relative. I can't currently send you images because I'm on holiday in Rome for another week and don't have my computer with me. It would be much easier to show than tell.

Thanks again for your reply! Yes when I change the horizontal alignment of the text style to align to note in the text settings, it attaches to the correct bar. The issue with this is now I cannot snap to the right margin. Is there a workaround to this, or do you have to pick one?

It's hard for me trying to remember this from the wilds of Rome and without my machine, but I think you have to position it manually and use the inspector to accurately place it.
