Truly weird... Any attempt to move a staff, or change note spacing, whether I'm using arrow keystrokes or mouse dragging, will also change the page currently in view back to page 1. It seems to happen no matter what combination of CTL, ALT, SHIFT I'm using. The actual moves are happening, but (of course) I'm not seeing them. (And this also slows things down forcing me to go back to wherever I was supposed to be.)
Is there a bug involved? Is there a pref that I've never thought about? If it is an issue with my keyboard, what extraneous input is my keyboard sending?
Thanks for any input.

Are you viewing vertical or horizontal spreads? In general, the former still has issues. Also, check in file-->preferences that you have unchecked the appropriate follow settings.

Portrait orientation for the monitor, so was working in vertical, and voila! Thanks Mike!
