Hi,

What is 'best practice' for aligning volta lines? It tends to work fine in full score, but in parts more often than not 1st and 2nd endings are at different heights.
I've been looking at engraving rules, edit text styles, and editing lines. I always end up pulling the lines around manually.
RTFM? Yes. Yes, I did. Love a pointer if I missed something, but yes.

I don't know what version of sib you are on, but sib 7 was particubad for this. I got into the habit of pressing [ctrl]a, [ctrl][shift]n, [ctrl][shift]p. Every time I open a part. Then I would go through and make sure any voltage lines were aligned. Changes in the score would very often result in the voltage becoming misaligned again, so the whole routine had to keep being repeated.

It's better now, but not much. My main advice is - do not rely on Sibelius to do it for you. Always do your own checking.

Thank you!
I'm on the latest ultimate. Would you mind telling me what those shortcuts would do? Especially [ctrl][shift]p? I don't think that one does what you want it to anymore.
Didn't solve the issue at hand, but sure made a lot of the inital work faster.

These shortcuts are for windows

[ctrl]a =select all
[Ctrl][shift] n = reset note spacing
[ctrl][shift]p = reset position. (This is the one that should reset the positions of lines.)

I also turn off all sibelius auto formatting in all parts (parts-->part formatting-->all parts).

Reset space above and below and then use justify selection.
