Resetting margins in parts

Hi everyone,
When I paste anything from the score into a part (to make a piano reduction, in this case), it resets the margins in the parts to much bigger. I understand that this is intended to fit longer instrument names - and Sibelius is working correctly - but I have adjusted the instrument names myself and they are now in the right places. How can I stop it from resetting the margins?
It is EXTREMELY frustrating for workflow!
