New Sibelius Ultimate can't see VSTs

Hello there. I've just upgraded from Sibelius 8.5 to Sibelius Ultimate 2024.3.1 and it can't see my NotePerformer VSTs.

Audio Engine Error: Bad Parameters

NotePerformer doesn't show up as an Active Device
Audio Engine Options has Use Virtual Instruments and Effects checked but the Audio Interface parameters are all blank.
Virtual Instruments and Effects Folder says Folders... but is greyed out.
Rescan does nothing.
C:\Program Files\Avid\VSTPlugins exists and contains the NotePerformer dll
NotePerformer is version 4.4.0.

Not sure I can help with your issue, except to say that it works here perfectly on win 11.

I might consider uninstalling np4 completely, deleting the contents of the vst folder and then reinstalling it.

Can you post images of your playback devices dialog and your audio engine options dialog? Also, make sure you have the np config selected under play->config.

I deleted np but I'm still getting Audio Engine Error: Bad parameters

No Available Devices show on the Playback Devices screen. Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth shows as Active.
Audio Engine Options - Use virtual instruments and effects... is checked.
All Audio Interface parameters are blank.
Virtual Instruments and Effects Folder says Folders... but won't take a cursor to update.

I can't post a screenprint.

I deleted and reinstalled Sibelius. I get the message still at first startup.

Update - I just reinstalled Note Performer 4.4 and restarted Sibelius. My loading screen says Scanning VSTs: NotePerformer64.dll but Sibelius has locked up with Audio Engine Error: Bad Parameters.

I've deleted everything again.

Is it possible that I can't see the NotePerformer dll because it's 64-bit and Sibelius is starting up in 32-bit?

If so, how do I make Sibelius Ultimate 64-bit?

Sibelius no longer has 32 bit versions. The latest ultimate version is fully 64 bit.
Is your NotePerformer up-to-date? If you haven't updated that, you could be using the wrong dll.

I deleted plogue engine but that didn't work.

I found the problem. It was with Windows 11

Sibelius 8.5.1 which is working on my laptop identified 7 missing dlls on my PC. Sibelius Ultimate didn't.

Once I'd restored the dlls to Windows\System and 8.5.1 worked, Ultimate worked as well.
