Hi

I don't understand certain thing in Sibelius 4.

1-How come all the MIDIs I open using Sibelius look so bad, actually can not be read, as there have a lot of strange simbols, where there are very cheap softwares out there that can do the job much better?

2-How come, an expensive software as Sibelius, can not convert mp3 or Wave sound files to MIDI, incontrast to a lot of software available out there which cost far less than 100 USD?

How come these "lacks" of a so expansive Sibelius 4?
Can any person explain me that?

Regards

1. You can change lots of options in the Open MIDI File dialog to improve the transcription you get from opening a MIDI file. Try changing these options. Also, try running the Combine Tied Notes and Rests plug-in after opening the MIDI file, as this can also help.

2. No software can reliably turn WAV or MP3 files into MIDI. Any money you spend on software to do this job will be money wasted -- you will be very disappointed in the results. The reason Sibelius doesn't have this feature is that it's an extremely difficult technical problem to solve, and no software has yet solved it satisfactorily.
