I have a number of orchestral files, some created originally with earlier versions of Sibelius, but which have been converted, which I have not opened for some time. When I opened them today, many instruments (particularly woodwind and brass) on playback give a piano sound, even though the mixer shows them with the correct instrument name.
It seems to be possible to put this right by using the Create-Other-Change instrument route, but this is clumsy with each instrument in an orchestral score; and will the change, if saved, be permanent, I wonder?
Can anyone tell me why this happens, and how to prevent or cure it?
