Different channels, same dynamics, different volumes

Hi all,

I've just recently updated from v.2 to v.6 (yes, quite a jump), and I'm noticing that for some instruments, even if they have the same dynamics as a similar instrument (eg. clarinet I and II on different staves), one of them is often a lot softer (or barely audible at all).

For the score in question where I noticed this, it was created in v.2, so I'm wondering if that might be part of the problem. 'Live Playback' is switched off, and from what I can see, the instruments with a volume disparity have exactly the same settings but are on different channels. I've created new scores in v.6 but I still have the same problem.

Hopefully someone can help with this perplexing (and frustrating) problem and forgive my ignorance.
