Hi,

Can someone tell me how to change the midi channel used for each staff in an exported midi file? What it seems to do by default is to put each staff on a different midi track in a midi type 1 file, but some of the information on different tracks (i.e. from different staves) use the same channel number. This means that if I have soprano notes on track 2 using channel 2, and I have tenor notes on track 4 also using channel 2, when I play back the file, both soprano and tenor use the same channel and therefore play back with the same instrument. This is not what I want. I want the soprano to use a clarinet and the tenor a bassoon or similar.

So how do I make Sibelius output the soprano staff on channel 1, alto on channel 2, tenor on channel 3, bass on channel 4 and piano accompaniment on channel 5? I don't really care which track numbers they use, since as far as I can see it doesn't affect the playback.

I'm using Sibelius 4.

Thanks - Rowan
