I'm working on a march and there's a big cresc. from p to ff. The first time, it never works, but the sencond time it does. I'm using NotePerformer, but that's not the issure because every soundset does it including MIDI. Note, play from the beginning and you'll notice.

I would post a download link, but the forum won't let me.

Make sure your end point is as close to the ending dynamic as it can be without colliding. I find too much gap causes the cresc/dim to be almost inaudible.

I've tried that too. That doesn't seem to be the problem. I wish I could post a link to the score to download, but this forum won't let me.

Hi,

Turn off Live playback. That should show an immediate improvement. Also turn off all of Sibelius' expression. NP has its own and the sib one interferes with it. Also, you have taken some of the hairpins too far. Use [space] or [shift][space] to extend them to the correct place.

As a further suggestion, if you want to dramatise the <> hairpins, put a hidden dynamic in between them.

Yours,

Mike

I forgot to add in my email that I don't know how to turn Sibelius' expression off.

Hi Austin,

It seems to be working a bit more consistently now. After listening to the crescs 3 or 4 times, I did begin to notice differences on each replay. However, after juggling with both ends of the hairpins, this seems to have stabilised.

I've emailed you the file after my tinkering. See if it is also better for you.

Yours,

mike

You hid an ff on the solo trumpet part, so I applied it to all the other parts. That's seems to fix the problem. Thank you for your patience.
