Problems Sibelius Sounds

Hey,

today I bought the new Sibelius, downloaded the Files for Windows and installed everything
on a 64bit System (Windows). In the same Folder i installed the sibelius 7 sounds.
In the program there is only "General MIDI (Basic)" shown. When I move the Folder of sibelius sounds,
the program askes for it, so apparently i should be in the Right place.
Sound is alright - but just the normal midi Sound.

Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks a lot and greetings
Konrad

In the Playback devices dialog, look for the dropdown next to configuration. If the sounds are properly installed, you should see Sibelius 7 Sounds and various other Sibelius 7 options.

Did you unpack the sounds and install or did you try to install from the file without extracting?

I unzipped the Folder and than installed sounds.
In the dropdownmenü, there is only General MIDI availible. I went into the konfiguration to show my options and uploaded a picture of it.

Thanks for the help!

Could you please do two more screenshots:

1. With the dropdown next to Konfiguration fully open (See my attachment)
2. of the Aktiv Gerät tab on top of this dialog.

I don't think you should be messing with the manual soundset settings unless you know what you are doing.

Please make absolutely sure you are opening the 64bit version of sibelius. If you look at the properties of the shortcut, it should say something like c:/Program Files/Avid/Sibelius ie it should not be "Program files (x86)".

AFAIK sib still installs both 32bit and 64bit versions.

Thanks!

Here are my screenshots! I installed it in the correct Folder "C:\Program Files\Avid\Sibelius"
I installed the Sibelius 7 Sounds, but there is no Option to choose the Folder. The Default Folder
seem to be in the program x86. So i took the files and moved them to "C:\Program Files\Avid\Sibelius 7 Sounds"
The program is asking "Cant find the files, where are they?" and I choose the Folder.
In the Dropdown there are only These two Option, but the sounds is Always the same.

OK. Step away from the sounds. Put them back where you found them and step away! :-)

If you are using the full Ultimate version of Sibelius 2019.1, you should see several different options for Sibelius sounds, including Chamber, Jazz, Lite, as in my screenshot.

Can you take another screenshot, this time of the File Tab of the ribbon, as in the attached image. As another check, open the windows properties for the folder containing the sib sounds. How large is it? If it is about 10GB then you have the basic Sibelius which does not include the full Sibelius sound library. If you click on more information in the about screen, does it show Sibelius ULTIMATE, or plain Sibelius?

My Sibelius Folder is About 210 mb, my Sibelius Sounds Folder About 34,3 gb.
It´s wired, that there Arent the six different Option, that should be there!

I just downloaded again the files from AVID - installed the program a second time, downloaded sibelous sounds again
and installed them. Nevertheless, there are just these two options...

OK 34GB sounds about right.
Look in your ProgramData folder on your C drive to check that all your xml files are in the right place:
Program data is a hidden folder. Do not delete or move anything in this folder. Just take a screenshot.

At this point I think it's worth repeating that you should make sure you are starting the 64 bit version.

Also back in the Playback Devices window, in the Active Devices tab, there should be something like Sibelius Player (in 7.5, anyway) in the large right hand box.

I'm also assuming that you downloaded the sounds, extracted them and used the included installer to install them.

Use Virtual Instruments should have been selected automatically in Audio Engine Options.

Which version of Windows is this?

Run as Administrator? You may be setup as the Administrator, but in W10 there is a higher level admin.

I´m sure I start the 64 bit Version because it´s in the Folder:
C:\Program Files\Avid
I also installed and started it as administrator. I downloaded the Sounds, extracted them and used the installer to install them.

I have Windows 10 Pro.

In my playback device window, there is nothing like the Sibelius player. Just "General MIDI basic"
...

Try emailing ingrid.guce@avid.com. She is pretty good at handling issues and wil probably set up a case for you with the support team. As for me, I'm stumped.

And with my last try I found the Problem....

I choose in my Audio-Engine-Options another Audio-Interface, and all of a sudden there was the Sibelius Player and Sibelius Sound 7, Chamber, jazz etc available!!
I never thought about that because my sound was working!

Thank you all for your kind support!!!

Best regards
