Hi .. I have a very simple problem ..

i write my guitar parts in Sibelius Tablature style in order to ensure the notes are positioned correctly on the right strings however when i export a guitar part to a MIDI file (using the normal staff to midi plugin) and then import it into my DAW (Logic Pro X) all of the note to string placements have been lost .. and notes have been placed somewhat randomly:

eg. a C note on the 5th fret of the G string become a C note on the 1st fret of the B string; an F to G bend on the 10th fret of the G string becomes an F to G bend on the 1st fret of the E string .. which is quite difficult if not impossible to do ..

i thought that MIDI protocols understood Guitar Tablature String locations however i suspect that i am missing something .. has anybody come across the same dilemma ??
Cheers
Andy

AFAIK, MIDI is purely about pitch and duration. Transferring a MIDI file to a daw will lose all non-pitch and non-rhythm related information. To MIDI, a B4 minimis a B4 minim is a B4 minim.
