MacBook Pro 2017, Mac OS 10.14.6, Sibelius 2021.1
I have been trying to install a set of sound fonts into Sibelius 2021.1 without success.
Initially, I put them in <Library>Application Support>Avid>Sibelius>Sounds> but they didn't appear in Sibelius.
The Sibelius Reference instructs that SF should be installed: ".... into the /Library/Audio/Sound/Banks folder on your hard disk", which isn't quite the same as the available folders in 10.14.6. I put them into </Library/Audio/Sounds/Banks> The Sound fonts still fail to appear in Sibelius Playback Configuration. Please could somebody help?
Installing SF2 in Sibelius 2021.1
AFAIK, your soundfonts MUST be iinstalled at the exact folder in the file system that is stated in the manual. If you place them in the wrong directory Sibelius will fail to see them. If the folder tree isn't there. you must create it EXACTLY as given in the manual.
I am fairly certain that this refers to the USER library.

Thank you, Mike.
In great frustration, I went to https://soundpacks.com/free-presets/ult ... font-pack/ and downloaded their 28 Mb ultimate sf pack. It was at this point that I realised that the download from The Digital Sound Factory was too small at a mere 7.8Mb, and I'm suspecting that their download is not working correctly. I dropped the Ultimate Soundfont Pack into: Library>Application Support>Avid>Sibelius>Sounds (users library) and everything worked if I selected General Basic Midi in Sibelius's Playback Configuration, thus proving that my downloaded fonts from the Digital Sound Factory were not working. For a free download, the Ultimate Soundfont Pack is quite remarkable.
Thank you for your assistance.

You might be better posting this on the official Sibelius forum. I don't really do Macs. There are a lot of very knowledgeable Mac people on the official site.

Erm, no. This forum was nearly moribund until very recently with only two people (including myself) still answering questions.
The official Avid forum is here: https://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpce ... &groupid=3. There are also a number of Sibelius groups/pages on FB, but many of those are up their own backsides a bit far for my taste.
