Sudden change in Sib7 audio engine configurations. Hijack?

Sib7 on win 10:
"No audio devices"
"Audio engine error: Bad Settings"

Audio Configuration suddenly shows only "General MIDI (basic)"; Audio Engine options all greyed out. This happened immediately after I used ScoreCloud https://scorecloud.com/ the first time. Not a certainty though an unlikely coincidence and I have contacted them.
Sibelius 7 appdata folder has several .xml files that were dated then. The subfolder 'Playback Configurations' has only one file: 'General MIDI (basic).xml'
I tried deleting some of these both in windows and as admin on command line but they all reappear when Sibelius is started after windows has been restarted.
Registry issue?

Found the solution here:

by googling PlogueEngine log: " ...Pa_Initialize Error number: -9986 Error message: Internal PortAudio error"

so never mind...
