Hi - I've recently built/designed/uploaded my website (improvisations.biz) to my host server prior to final completion. The home page describes the Improvisation Kits that visitors may obtain. There is an internal link on the homepage which takes the visitor to another page on which there is an example score which is further linked to an .mp3 file of the audio.

Whilst this works quite well, I was wondering whether I could replace the present example score with a Scorch version which would playback without going to a further link. On p. 689 of the manual there is some HTML code. Do I simply insert that in my own source code? Is it that easy?

Nothing to do with computers is ever easy. But yes, all you need is a bit of HTML code. Your page has a link to this code, and the code links to the Sibelius file (which must be in the same directory). Sibelius will generate this code fragment automatically if you Export, and you can then refine the generated code in a text editor.

Hi Sebasian

I've done that but the sound quality I'm getting is not too good. I think I'll stick with a link to the .mp3 file. The trouble is, when I use the link on my site, the helper application that is used is Quicktime which takes me to a new page. This means a visitor can't read the score at the same time as listen to the audio. In my local website it opens with WMPlayer, minimised within the score page allowing the score to be seen. Do you know of any way to force my remote website link to point the .mp3 file to Windows Media Player?

Sorry, I know this not strictly Sibelius but it might be of general interest.

you can print it to file and this is an solution:
1. Switch OFF your printer. Must be OFF not ON.

If you use scorch or the sibelius cloud player, you can only hear the midi sounds, which are, to be frank, bloody awful. Make decent mp3s by using a decent sound library - or real players - and put a link to that instead. you can still show the score. You could also try creating a video of your score playing, using whatever sound library you have by using the export options within sibelius. Even that will give better results.
