I suspect that I am missing something embarrassingly simple. I have written a passage that I want to transpose diatonically-say up a major 2nd. It is in the key of Bb-eg. Bb, C, D,Eb. I would think that I would need only select the passage, open the transpose dialogue and select diatonically up a major second. The result would be C, D,Eb,F. But for some reason I end up with an accidental in the transposed passage. I would appreciate any help that is offered.

A transposed section might have accidentals because it's the correct pitches, but in the original key.
The transposition should be : C D E (not Eb)F.

Thank you for your reply. It was embarrassingly simple. All I have to do is select the passage and use the up down arrow key.

Just be aware that doing so does NOT transpose diatonically. While it worked in this case, it may not work in other situations!
