Hi. I opened up one of my songs, 5 pages long, and suddenly on page 2 there's one line of music but underneath it the page is blank. And the rest of the song continues on the next page. There is room for 2 more lines of music on Page 2, but everything got shifted so now there's a big white space on Page 2. I would like to join them together on Page 2 as originally created.

Anyone know how this happened or how I can join things together?

Thanks for the help!
Tom

Select a bar in the next system and press [reset space above]. (Layout Tab)
Hve you got auto breaks turned on? If so, turn them off. They are worse than useless. (and always have been)

Hi. Thank you. I tried what you said but didn't have any luck with it. I was probably doing it wrong. HOWEVER... playing around with it, I put the song in that mode where it appears on the screen all laid out in one long line. And I noticed at the top of the bar where the trouble starts that there's a little blue rectangle. I clicked on it, deleted it, and went back to normal page layout -- and the problem was gone! Page 2 had NO big blank space, it was all filled up with staves. So thank you very much for getting me going in the right direction.

Can you tell me what I did by deleting that blue rectangle?

Tom

The rectangle was possibly a hidden or deleted text object (ie one with no text in it) it was messing up the spacing until you deleted it. When you delete text or change your mind about typing and press [ESC] the text frame doesn't go away. It sits there hidden and causes problems. Use the "What is where" plugin to find all such objects.

No, it was a page break marker. If you press [ctrl/cmd][return] with a barline selected it will make a page break at that point.

If you have autobreaks turned on, they will be placed by Sibelius - usually in completely the wrong place.
