Hey everyone,

Doing some divisi string stuff. Is there a short cut or do I have to : select/right click/go to hide/click show in parts then go to layout menu hide empty stave? gonna be a lot of fun if that's the drill haha. Is there a plug in for it?

thanks,

Grant

ps
it's staves that have notes in them just to be clear.

It all depends on how extensive the divisi part is and exactly what you are trying to achieve. In general, unless there is music on a staff, you don't need to hide anything before using Hide Empty Staves.
If you want the occasional split part, it might be easier to do with ossias. If it's extensive, make sure you are being consisten with which staff/staves youa re hiding.

Hi Mike,

thanks for the reply. ya it's pretty extensive divisi that can't really be on the same staff na the staves I'll need to hide have music in them. I was just wondering if there was a shorter way of hiding a stave with music in it in the score but keeping it visible in the part ( as opposed to the having to hide insight click/go to hide/go to show in parts then go up to layout and hide the stave).

thanks,
Grant

I still don't get why you are hiding the music on the stave. Can you show me an example of what you need to do? Although I don't do much divisi writing, I have had some situations where I have had to hide staves in the score, This is often better achieved by 'focus on staves'.If it is always the same staff that is hidden.
