I see how to extend the range of an instrument for Low G Ukulele. I cannot figure out how to extend the range of the tablature. And how would I save the ranges so I do not have to change the registration every time? I use this range daily.

Look in the manual at how to edit instruments. You can create a baritone ukulele instrument. Ukulele uses nylon guitar sounds, so range isn't a problem. If you do it properly, it will be saved to your instrument list.

I can create a ukulele with a low G string, but I cannot create the tablature with a low G. I am unable to select and change the range.

In the Edit tab instrument window there is an edit staff button. That is where you rename the strings for the tab. Be sure to save the new tab instrument back into the family you got it from. I would create a notation instrument also. Give them names you can find in the instrument list later. Like Ukulele [low G].

When you select staff type as tablature, you are no longer able to alter the ranges. I cannot make it work for me.

After you select staff type, you should see a diagram of the strings labeled G4, C4, E4, A4. change the G4 to G3.

I did that, change to G3, and it did not work.

I just did it again and it worked fine. Let's go through the steps I took. My version is 7.5 but it should be similar.

1.Home tab, select diagonal down arrow next to "Instruments".
2.Ensembles, select "All instruments", Families in ensemble, select "Hawaiian guitar", Instruments in family, select Ukulele [tab]
3.Change instrument names to something about ukulele low g.
4.in Edit staff type, change g4 to g3. hit OK, Ok again.
5. "Instruments in family" should show your new ukulele with whatever new name you gave it.
