Hi,

In my score I have 8 measures that I need to playback between Start-repeat and End-repeat sign.
It plays back correctly the first pass. It goes to End-repeat sign and get back to Start-repeat sign and continues to playback, no problem here.

The problem is when the cursor gets back from D.S. al Coda to the same Start-repeat point where there is a D.S sign, it plays only one pass and it is not repeating the same 8 bars when the cursor arrive to End-repeat. It keeps continuing to playback the rest of the score.

Am I doing something wrong?
Or anybody has experienced the same issue?
I am using Sibelius 7.5 in iMac, macOS High Sierra.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.
I've already checked mark the "Play repeats after a D.S or D.C jump".
Even with this setup it is not playing back.

Either send me the file or use manual repeats.

Question: How did you input the Segno and the DS instructions? Did you use Repeats Ds/Dc text style?

For both Dal Segno sign and D.S al Coda text, I used Text > Other System Text > Repeat (D.C/D.S To Coda).

Just making sure. Check the attachment point of your segno. Make sure it is on the barline and not on the 1st beat. Use the manual repeats list to check if you can see any strange anomalies in the default playback structure.

You haven't got nested repeats, have you? Make sure repeat brackets are always paired as this can sometimes break the structure.

as I said, without seeing the entire score and the sib file I can only guess.

I have replied.

Long and short - you need to use manual repeats (unless you were to open out the repeat with the "To Coda" in it.)

I used the Manual repeat but I got some problems during playback.
Problem 1- It does not play the whole score from the beginning. It plays back only the repeats that I've entered manually.
Problem 2- The playback is not synchronized with the metronome.

I set the manual repeat like that:
8-15, 21-28, 29-32, 37-40, 43-46,

when yomy copy (just sent) you'll see what to do. If you use Reset Default Order, you should see almost the exact pattern you need. you just need to add in another repeat with the coda wheel inside it and make that section end at the bar with the to coda. Don't forget, you also have to include the bars that don't repeat in the list. Using manual repeats means you can set up sections whichdon't play at all.

@MikeLyons,

There is a Playback sound problem with the corrected file.
After the cursor jumps from D.S. al Coda to dal Segno sign, there is no sound.
I can hear the sound from the beginning until D.S. al Coda but after jumping to dal Segno sign, no more sound.

You, or maybe me - though i don't remember doing so - have turned off play on pass after the 2nd time. restore them and all will be well.

I just did Restore Default Order in Play > Repeats section but still no sound after D.S al Coda.
